@315justme: Onion Boil *There’s something wonderfully comforting about a sweet Vidalia onion baked until tender and buttery. This simple Southern-style side turns a humble onion into a rich, savory treat with plenty of warm seasoning in every bite.* What You'll Need 2 large Vidalia onions, about 12 ounces each 4 tablespoons unsalted butter 2 teaspoons chicken stock base 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce 1/2 teaspoon Creole seasoning 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon black pepper How to Make It 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Trim about 1/8–1/4 inch from the top and bottom of each onion, leaving the root intact. Peel away the skins. 2. Using a melon baller or spoon, carefully scoop out the center of each onion, leaving about a 1-inch border and going about halfway down. 3. Place each onion on a large rimmed baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. 4. Add 1 teaspoon of chicken stock base and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce to the cavity of each onion. 5. In a small bowl, combine the Creole seasoning, smoked paprika, dried parsley, garlic powder, and black pepper. 6. Sprinkle about 1/2 teaspoon of the seasoning mixture into each onion cavity. Add 2 tablespoons of butter to each cavity. 7. Divide the remaining seasoning mixture between the two onions, sprinkling it over the tops and into the cavities. 8. Wrap each onion tightly in foil. 9. Bake for about 1 hour, until the onions are completely tender. 10. Carefully unwrap the foil and serve the onions warm.
