NICU AWARENESS MONTH 🩵🫶🏽 To my son Sy’Air… if you ever wonder how strong you were, I hope one day you understand just how much you fought to be here. You entered this world and went straight into a battle you never asked for. While other babies were being rocked to sleep in their mama’s arms, you were fighting for every breath. While other moms were taking newborn pictures and bringing their babies home, I was learning medical terms, watching monitors, praying over machines, and begging God to let me keep my baby. 😭 There were moments I was terrified. Moments I cried in the bathroom, in my car, in your hospital room, and sometimes when nobody was looking. But every time I thought I couldn’t take another day, you showed me another reason to keep going. You’ve had surgeries. You’ve had setbacks. You’ve had scary moments. You’ve had tubes, machines, procedures and more pokes than any baby should ever have to experience. And somehow… you still smile. 🥹🩵 Sy, you didn’t just survive the NICU. You changed me. NICU Awareness Month is for every tiny fighter who is still fighting, every baby who made it home, every angel we had to say goodbye to, and every NICU parent silently carrying a pain nobody else can see. And to the mama sitting beside an incubator right now wondering when this will end… Please keep going. Take it one day at a time. Cry when you need to. Pray when you need to. And remember that needing help doesn’t make you a weak mama. From one NICU mama to another!
