Fun fact: I’ve played tenor saxophone in the pit orchestra of my college’s production of Cabaret and they told us to play purposefully out of tune to symbolize Nazi control becoming more oppressive (compared to the beginning where this song was in tune, relatively happy, and a lot of people lived in blissful ignorance). 😬 I hear these saxophones too… It’s been seven years since I was in that play. Things are getting scary.
