Technically it's an addiction. Although the words are used interchangeably these days, obsession is normally negative unwanted feelings/thoughts that cause distress, while addiction is the pursuit of gratification 🤓🤭

It’s definitely addiction! The pursuit of pleasure or like a desire for something ….obsession is caused by fear or anxiety. Those auctions are so addictive!! It’s crazy!
