Traveling more has definitely taught me that spending more doesn’t automatically mean having a better trip. ✈️💸 Here are 5 things I stopped wasting money on while traveling: 1. Overpriced airport food & drinks 🥤 Sometimes you have no choice, but I try to eat beforehand, bring snacks, and carry an empty reusable water bottle when allowed. Those little airport purchases add up FAST. 😭 2. Taxis everywhere 🚕 If the destination has safe and convenient public transportation, we use it. Trains, metros and buses can save so much money—and honestly, figuring out the local transportation is part of the experience. 3. Buying things just because they’re “souvenirs” 🛍️ I’d rather bring home something I genuinely love or will actually use than buy random tourist items just because we’re there. 4. Paying for every single attraction 🎟️ Not everything on a “Top 10 Things to Do” list needs to make the itinerary. Some of my favorite travel memories have been walking around neighborhoods, finding viewpoints, exploring markets or just sitting at a café. 5. Overpacking and paying unnecessary baggage fees 🧳 I’m learning to be much more intentional about what I pack. If I’m bringing five “just in case” outfits… chances are four are coming home untouched. 😂 One thing that helps me is deciding where I actually WANT my travel money to go before the trip. Flights? A nicer hotel? Food? Shopping? Experiences? That’s also why I included budget planning in my Ultimate Travel Planner Bundle.
