@gatorchris1: A tragic situation where a trainer in Papua New Guinea was killed by one of the crocodiles he worked with. I really recommend checking out my full video on this situation. In my full 23 minute video I’m discussing the situation, the animal psychology, and then the public perception of the incident and how it makes people view these animals. Situations like this often make people hate or blame the animal, which I can almost guarantee this man did not blame the animal. This is why it’s so important to educate people that we must respect these creatures and expect to as like the apex predators they are. You cannot blame the croc for acting like a croc, this is why I’m always telling people they’re not pets, they can be trained but not tamed, and to always be aware and realistic of the dangers. #crocodile #animals
No matter how good you treat them, they will always turn on you. Thats a fact

“I love them, they don’t love me. If I make a mistake, yes they will kill and eat me” thank you for this!! Because yes!!! People need to understand that it still is a wild animal. It will still act as one.

Pls some of you in the comments here need to understand that none of it was the handler’s fault, nor was it the animal’s fault. It’s the park’s fault for allowing this feeding style to happen, even with the original handler. The park let them continue this way of feeding because that’s what brought a lot of visitors to the park. They only cared about profit. If the park enforced safer feeding methods, the guy would still be here and the animal would be safe. The whole point of the park is for conservation but what is the point of it if the park has failed to protect both the handlers and the animals? It’s good that there’s an investigation now. That place needs new management.

I'm from PNG, and the pictures aren't correct. One of them shows a different handler who has already retired. He was a very skilled and experienced crocodile handler (the one pictured sitting on the croc).
The other person, pictured holding the chicken, is a completely different handler. He's the one who was eaten by the crocodile. He was a newbie and wasn't necessarily raised in the coastal areas of PNG, where people tend to have more experience and familiarity with crocodiles.

Back story:so the victim was not the original caretaker. The Croc belonged to a old mute guy who raised the Croc till it grew older. It grew bigger so they put it in the park. He's mute but the Croc knew the old guy very well. The old guy was off duty I guess, n he was the next guy to feed the Croc. I guess the Croc knew his original caretaker scent more n the victim was not the old guy. So sad.m from png🇵🇬
