@missjessicabooty: So Why The Irony? We’ve been seeing this juxtaposition of smoking apparatus + prohibition signs as far back as the 70s. It was & still is law to have a safe place to extinguish a lit cigarette on an airplane in case of any desperate rule breakers. A contradicting image that confuses some & tickles others. A bit like Duchamp’s urinal (the idea of the found object) in 2021 I couldn’t help but think it was art. Mainly because of how it captured the zeitgeist (see people’s online discussions on the subject). The no smoking ashtray design with its 3D logo, heart included & pop art style was born 🚭 #nosmokingashtray #collectibledesign
