one of this days I saw on my fly page an American girl claiming she had Uyghur parents and she showed images of Xinjiang from 20 years ago saying her family “missed how things were before”, she said as if everything had been destroyed . I looked up and the mosque and the traditional Uyghur market she showed are still there till this day but they actually got bigger 😂

I have literally just come back from China. Spent a month in a town in Yunnan. They have like 3 or 4 ethnic groups there. So much diversity. Many of the residents were Muslim there and nobody cared. Everyone is just another citizen with a life and a job. People respect each other, work, have fun and coexist with each other peacefully. they live and let live. 😌

NONE of what you found surprises me at this point. What I’ve personally experienced growing up as a 1st gen ABC in the US is this: MANY Americans, and certainly the politicians on both sides like to lie, deceive, and engage in perpetuating false information — ESPECIALLY during times of national or social upheaval. They do this in an attempt to deflect, detract, and distract from the internal struggles within by creating an enemy and focal point without. MOREOVER, they seek to maintain internal division so that no one particular group can gain dominance over another. What this is ALL about is making sure the extremely wealthy maintain power while manipulating those who are more poor, weak, or susceptible to lies so they will continue to be led. The politicians know most ppl want something to believe in without question— even if it’s a lie— so what’s more effective than giving their ppl an enemy to blame so the leaders won’t have to take accountability themselves? THAT is the American way. There is ZERO honor in most Americans I’ve met personally and NONE in the leadership here. Frankly, it’s disgusting. THAT is why this country is such a mess. Rampant Corruption, NO Accountability, NO Honor. Call me cynical. I am. But it’s impossible to deny it when the same mistakes, bad policies, and AWFUL mismanagement get repeated over snd over and OVER again.
