A homeowners association cannot unilaterally remove your individual property address from its jurisdiction or boundaries. Your obligation to be part of the HOA is tied to your property's deed through binding covenants (CC&Rs) agreed upon when you bought the home. If they are saying that it’s false and if they try it’s illegal. If you catch them in illegal activity then you can have them removed completely

The key question is whether the property is being completely released from the recorded covenants or merely removed from membership in the association. You could become responsible for expenses previously shared by the HOA. This can be a significant issue if the property benefits from HOA-maintained infrastructure. For example private road maintenance, road repairs/replacement, drainage, common utilities, shared wells or water systems etc.

Something smells like a skunk, it’s likely a skunk. I’d be consulting with your lawyer to make sure they can legally remove your address without you having to follow the current covenant and bylaws. You may still have to pay dues and the fines they are trying to make you pay. I honestly would push back on them with a petition to dissolve the current board and elect new board members and if that don’t work, dissolve the HOA entirely.

honestly, I think I would probably keep my mouth shut and not post any more videos about future plans until after it's done deal. They can always cancel it now.. the house will be a lot easier to sell in the future not being in an HOA as well

Sounds like an ulterior motive behind it. Besides not being able to be voted in by everyone else to the board , they might have stipulations hidden in the release. Smoke it over with a fine tooth comb first. I’m sure they are up to more sneaky 💩.
