Louder for the lower grade levels because once those habits are made, breaking them in fourth grade is nearly impossible and 300% more exhausting. Not blaming anyone… just stating it how I see it.

What do you do when they are talking during independent time? How would you do it again? Genuinely asking because I’m still newish and would love to hear from other teachers!

My struggle is I can do this with lining up, walking in the hall, etc. but I don’t know how to practice them being quiet in the classroom- when I can’t get them to be quiet to even practice. There’s never a quiet minute. Love any suggestions!

I do this with 3 and 4 yr olds with autism. They are capable of understanding more than people give them credit for.

My son on purpose was writing horribly on his homework so I erased it and made him write it again 🤷♀️oh he was mad but his writing was so much better afterwards. He hates when I do things like that but I explain to him why I do it.

1 month in and I’m already at my “Do not care point” already getting complains that I’m making their child cry. So I’ll let them be!

Written work too! Make them erase and rewrite if it's messy NOW and it's amazing how the rest of the year how neatly their notes and work can be done. It took my class two days of redoing their agenda messages/math notes before going out to recess before suddenly every agenda message and note is written neatly and properly like shown on the board. They don't think you mean it or that it's important until you hold them to it

ok. I need help with this. for the most part I got it. but one thing I cant get them to do is stop talking and interrupting. how do I "make them do it again?" if im the one teaching. like im giving instructions and they make comments for everything. I address it but it keeps happening.
