Once I was in a relationship that hinged on the fact that my job would take me out of town for a week to ten days every month. Every time I'd return home it would be as if the romantic emotional floodgates had opened wide. After less than a year I changed jobs to spend more time with my partner, within two months my partner told me that I had changed and was nolonger exciting enough and ended the relationship with me. It was terribly painful and I have been puzzled and bewildered about it for decades.
