@wildwood_naturalremedies: When a stomach bug hits your family, make this. 🌿🍵 I love having this blend already mixed in my apothecary because when someone’s stomach is upset, the LAST thing I want to do is dig through four different jars trying to figure out what to make. This combination brings together four herbs traditionally used for different types of digestive discomfort: 🌼 Chamomile — traditionally used for digestive upset and occasional cramping. 🌿 Lemon balm — traditionally used to support digestive comfort and relaxation. 🌱 Fennel — a classic carminative herb traditionally used for gas, bloating and intestinal cramping. 🤍 Marshmallow root — rich in mucilage, the slippery compounds responsible for its characteristic soothing quality. Because heat can affect these compounds, marshmallow root is often prepared as a cold infusion. 🌿 Digestive Tea Blend 1 part chamomile 1 part lemon balm ½ part fennel ½ part marshmallow root Mix the dried herbs together and store in a clean, airtight jar. Traditional hot infusion: Use 1–2 teaspoons per cup of hot water and steep for about 10–15 minutes, then strain. Or try a cold infusion: Add your blend to cool water and let it infuse in the refrigerator overnight. Strain the next day and enjoy chilled, or gently warm it if you prefer it warm. Cold-infusing the entire blend is my favorite way to prepare it when I specifically want to highlight the soothing qualities of the marshmallow root. I also love making a larger batch ahead of time so it’s already waiting in the fridge when stomach trouble makes its way through the house. This isn’t a “one herb does everything” tea. I love this blend because the herbs complement each other — calming, carminative and soothing. SAVE THIS ONE BEFORE THE NEXT STOMACH BUG HITS. 🌿 * A quick reminder: stomach bugs can cause dehydration quickly. Seek medical care for severe symptoms, signs of dehydration, blood in vomit or stool, severe abdominal pain, or symptoms that aren’t improving. *This is a traditional herbal preparation and isn’t intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. #digestiontea #stomachbug #germseason
