The rest is corn flour, wheat starch, rice flour, maltodextrin, and vegetable oils. They're not sliced from a potato. They're pressed from a reconstituted dough — dehydrated potato flakes blended with starches and oils, extruded through a mould, fried, and stacked into a tube. Every Pringle is the exact same shape because not one of them was ever a whole potato. The oil blend includes cottonseed oil — an industrial lubricant before the food industry rebranded it for human consumption — corn oil, and soybean oil. Mono and diglycerides are listed as an emulsifier — a hidden source of trans fats the FDA banned in 2018. Flavoured varieties add autolyzed yeast extract, disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate — three flavour enhancers that function like MSG — and in some versions TBHQ and artificial colours. A blood glucose study found Pringles cause a significantly higher and faster sugar spike than the same amount of baked whole potato. Same "potato" product. Completely different metabolic response. Because one is a potato. The other is a paste made from five different flours, three oils, and a tube full of marketing. A real chip needs potato, oil, and salt. Pringles need a factory and a mould.
