My great grandparents were part of the Italian immigrant community in Butte! The neighborhood was called Meaderville (actually a separate city) and my great grandpa was the sheriff/town barber. Lol

Growing up in butte, in high school I was part of MT history club and I spent quite a bit of time at the dumas learning about the history and participating in ghost hunts and it’s something I’ll never get tired of hearing about. I even spent a couple nights at the cabbage patch we did it once a year to get an idea of how many mining families lived. They took our phones/wallet/keys and we were issued cardboard and tarps and for dinner we walked to the rescue mission to have dinner and it really gave us that perspective which was really cool! I’m glad you enjoyed your trip here thanks for sharing! 🫶🏻
