My “sister” and I raised our kids across the street from each other since the oldest were 2 and 3 until she lost her battle with cancer- they were 16 and 17. We had added more sons/stepsons between us who were 17,15, 15,14,12,and 9 when she passed. We went grocery shopping together every Sunday, took turns cooking dinner for the whole clan, celebrated holidays together, owned RV lots next to each other, went camping, did tropical vacations, etc together. I clipped all our sons’ nails and she took them all for their vaccinations. They baked cookies with me but cupcakes with her. She did my dishes everyday while I was at work and I mopped her floors and cleaned her bathrooms every Friday after work. We covered for each other when one had to miss a school event or field trip. I did swim lessons and she did driving lessons. I helped with homework and she did band/piano practice. October 2 will be 10 years and I still feel so off balance and like half my soul is missing. Cherish every moment! Many people go an entire lifetime without ever experiencing this kind of connection!

My sister lives 6 minutes away. I tried to get her to buy a house on my street but apparently the fact that it was in bad condition and too small for her family wasn’t good enough for her, sisters 🙄
