@therealjessevasquez: My dad was hard on me growing up. At the time, I didn’t understand why. I thought he was just being tough for no reason. But when he got diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, everything changed. Before he passed, he told me something I didn’t fully understand then. “Something good will come from this.” He was gone three months later. He never got to see the man I became, or what I’ve been building since. But I see it now. His toughness made me resilient. His words became my drive. His life taught me that you don’t have to stay somewhere you hate, you can build your own path. All those lessons I fought against growing up… Now I get it.
