this “problem” is the fault of the clean girl aesthetic. Shelby is right.. if you want your makeup to “be makeuping” or look glam, you have to use enough. we got so far away from actually using product bc of the clean girl aesthetic that the customers don’t even know.

My mom is just starting to learn makeup and she’s afraid to put a lot of product on. I tried to explain to her how while painting a wall you can’t dip your brush in once and expect an even coat on the entire surface. You need to keep putting more paint on to get a proper coverage. I feel like putting makeup on is kind of similar in a sense that one dot of foundation won’t cover your entire face and hence gets streaky or comes off when you try to cover your full face with little product.
