I actually think it’s a good lesson to teach young girls that their first love isn’t always their final love (pocahontas loved John Smith even if they didn’t stay together in the end just like a girl’s first love that doesn’t necessarily end up being her final love) and I see it as disney giving pochahontas (the real girl and her story isn't romantic) a better ending with a better man
