Can I just say something to the woman who’s been blaming herself because the intimacy disappeared… I’ve been you. For years, I thought something was wrong with me. I cried. I Googled doctors. I looked into therapy. I researched everything I could because I was convinced I was the problem. Now, looking back, I realize I felt so emotionally disconnected in my marriage that my body was responding to that disconnection. Do I wish our marriage had been healthier? Absolutely. Do I wish we had been more connected? Of course. Do I wish I had understood sooner what my heart and body were trying to tell me? Yes. But you know what I didn’t do? I didn’t go find another man to fill the void. I didn’t start an emotional affair. I didn’t betray my vows. I know what it feels like to be lonely in your own marriage. I know what it feels like to feel emotionally unseen and disconnected by the person you loved most. And even then… I stayed faithful. So while I can acknowledge that our marriage had problems and while I can even feel compassion for the hurt we were both experiencing it was not my fault he cheated. There were a hundred different choices he could’ve made before betraying me. We could’ve had harder conversations. We could’ve gone to counseling. He could’ve fought for our marriage. And if he truly couldn’t stay anymore, he could’ve left with honesty. Instead, he chose to cheat and deeply destroy me. Please don’t confuse “our marriage had problems” with “I caused the affair.” Those are not the same thing. You can take accountability for your part in a relationship without taking responsibility for someone else’s betrayal. If you’ve been carrying that guilt too, I hope today you set some of it down. If you need help healing follow along. You are not alone here. And if you need deeper healing my free training on healing after betrayal is in my biö.🤍 #Cheating #cheater #affair #betrayal
