From my research, a trichologist is not a cosmetic scientist and seasoned cosmetic scientists like Perry Romanowski and Valerie George of the Beauty Brains/Chemists Corner have been debunking all these product classicism and other silly shenanigans for more than 10 years which also includes misinformation as regards ingredients and the high handedness of these "clean and organic" beauty people that are just marketing gimmicks used to manipulate people's emotions.

As a former loose hair natural I was all about the higher end product until I started really looking at the ingredients. I really liked your analogy of “bare bones” You really only need a handful of core ingredients to make decent shampoo and conditioner. I love me some Giovanni products. I get that at sprouts.

Both are great I also love using products that are effective that my clients have access to most things need repetitive use to get the best benefits it’s sometimes a misuse to use a high ended product on a client once every quarter

When you protective styles in your clients’ hair, what do you teach them about maintaining the health of the hair (moisture) between their appointments with you. This is referencing the comment you made about them not really touching (restyling) their hair for 4 weeks or so. If you did a video on this, can you guide me to it. TIA
