A recent federal appeals court decision involving AI-generated images raises some BIG questions for family photographers especially when it comes to photographing and sharing images of children. This case was not about normal family photography, and it does NOT mean photographers can’t share photos of children. But it does highlight something photographers need to be thinking about: what happens to children’s images once AI tools can manipulate, alter, or recreate them? If you’re a family photographer, this is your reminder to take a closer look at your contracts, image-sharing policies, and the AI tools you’re using in your business.
