paid $117 for my 3.48ct step cut pale honey colored marquise on Etsy paid $7 dollars for my Alexandrite pears on eBay, and actually found someone on TikTok that custom makes Settings. Mine is a cathedral setting with Lily of the valley engravings all the way around the band single diamond bridge in a lotus basket and quarter basil was six prongs in 14k gold for only $850. Took it to all get mounted for $112 Total $1,086

You definitely overpaid for the setting but also very few people including me who buys 300-500 stones per month are paying $100/ct. I frequently pay over $100 as a wholesaler who buys in bulk. I definitely wouldn't pay over $150-200/ct and that's what most jewelers are paying and then they mark it up 300%

I don’t think ppl realize bezel settings and a thicker band will cost more. It’s not a cheap setting to begin with. I think $2k is a fair price!

there are like 2-3 auctions i know that literally price lab grown diamonds $400-$500 for 2-3 carats. people feed into them because the auctioneers call the audience “honey” or “love” 24/7

I wouldn’t say the $100 a carat applies to all diamonds , i got a 3.34 old mine cushion cut for $470 and that was a steal cuz its clarity VVS2 color D and its elongated , so it really depends not all diamonds are created equal

Just wanna clarify that the $100 per carat is also heavily dependent on the stats of the stone and also the color. Certain stones, shapes, and colors will run closer to $200 per carat. But on average you shouldn’t spend more than $100-$200 per carat ever.
