We traded away a lot of fun for financial stability and use gallows humor to cope. Younger generations want to make a different trade-off but want the same money, which misunderstands what a trade-off is.

Luckily, I’m still doing my job. My parents brought me up back in the 60s and 70s to find a job and do something you love and you will never work a day in your life and they were exactly right and they were good role models because my dad did something he loved his whole life. My mom worked part-time occasionally at a job she loved so it was only made sense that when I grew up, they got a job. I did suck my loved and I’ve been doing it for 40 years and I should be retiring, but I hate to say no to people so I have a handful of clients that I can’t let go of.

like what do they think we go to college for? to end up miserable? why waste the time and money if "that's life" when i have an office job without an education, it's not like you can't find work without it. so give me a good reason to go to college if not to end up with a career i'm happy with 😭
