"Lipedema is a chronic adipose tissue disorder traditionally considered to affect almost exclusively women, with recent estimates suggesting approximately 0.2% prevalence in men worldwide; the condition remains underdiagnosed in males due to limited awareness and scarce literature." ncbi paper 2025 Though rare, it can occur in men. Not the point of the video, but I do think physicians should be up do date on the literature of something they are frequently treating. That said, I wholly believe doctors that are discharging all or most of their patients (patients have done nothing to warrant discharge, the doctor just want to retire or move on) should be required to provide a list of providers willing to accept new transfer patients. No doctor should be okay with knowing their patient will go without necessary medication or treatment because they left them with no recourse.
