My son was inducted into the honor society and I was working as a home health nurse. I told him that morning I would be at the ceremony but during the day I got assigned a patient that had a timed IV antibiotic at the exact time of the assembly. I cried the rest of the day thinking of him looking out at the audience for me and me not being there … I’ve asked and he doesn’t even remember it but I will never forget it

Grandparents day is a tough one for me. I never had a normal set of grandparents, when I have kids it’ll be different! My grandma (moms mom) was in adult foster care, my grandpa (moms dad) is an alcoholic, and my dads mom was never close to us and my dads dad passed in the 90s.
