I'm pushing now, I'm getting noticed. Still living in an environment I don't wish anybody to live in. I decided to start Thug Life — Thug Luv — to show them I can live like them and talk like them. Definitely I can do this, I'm an Artist, I learned this. I'm tired of seeing my community living in these poor conditions — abuse, drugs, rape, killing. The worst was the conditions we live in as Black people, Black Americans. I couldn't understand why we have to suffer because of our skin color. Stopped by police because you're Black, get hit for no reason. I said if I don't talk about these things happening to our society, in our country — who can free us? My mama taught me to not be quiet. That's when I started to rap about those things, speak about it. It was like I'm starting a war with the system. My aim was to be free from all of this Black hate. That's where I became so famous. That's where I was marked for death by my own community, my own friends, the ones I taught the game. *Thug Life cost me my life, even though I was never a thug but a VOICE for my people.* I got shot 5 times. I didn't believe I made it. I was in pain because the same people I'm trying to free are the same people who wanted to take me out. What I live, I put God first.
