if he is a senior (older than like 8-10) he should definitely be on a senior specific diet. If all the bloodwork is all normal it is most likely an age thing, many cats lose muscle mass as they age just like elderly people! (Definitely consult your vet but as a vet tech this seems normal if their aren’t other symptoms) 💕

I saw you commented that he’s older, 12 years, so it could just be that. All my cats growing up lost weight as they got older. I would ask your vet if switching to a senior diet would be beneficial for him ❤️they have different bodily needs as they age so the senior specific diet may be helpful!

Reem, I have been following you weight gain journey, and as a 14 year old skinny girl as well I am feeling so down and so ugly. I would recommend seeing and Internal Medicine vet. Our cat was diagnosed with small cell lymphoma in his intestines. They did an endoscopy and ultrasound after lots and lots of bloodwork. Going to a specialist is the next best step you can take imo. Also if your kitty is showing signs of dental issues I would recommend doing dental cleanings regularly with your vet. They hide pain really well and will still eat if if their mouth is bothering them. I hope you’re able to get your kitty feeling better soon 💙
