@cesare_shapable: Getting out of shape changes more than what you see in the mirror. It changes the things you start saying no to. Someone asks you to play a game and instead of thinking about how much fun it will be, you start wondering how quickly you’ll get tired. How unfit you’ll feel. Whether everyone else will notice that you can’t keep up. Do that for long enough and the next invitation becomes even easier to turn down. So give your training a purpose beyond looking better. Put something physical in the calendar. A game. A race. A hike. Something that gives you a reason to improve your fitness over the next few weeks. Then train with a simple target. Last longer. Move better. Need fewer breaks. Get stronger. Looking better is a great outcome of getting in shape. But being fit enough to say yes when life gives you an opportunity to use your body is a much better reason to stay that way. Train for the life you actually want to live.
