@shaquita.k: “Tag,You’re it ft. My nephew” One thing I’ve learned about loving the kids in my life is that sometimes quality time means entering THEIR world. Playing the game they want to play. Watching the show you really don’t care about. Listening to them explain something you barely understand. Going outside when you’d rather be sitting down. 😂 Not because we suddenly love those things…but because we love THEM. As adults, it’s so easy to think spending time with our children means having them join us in what we already have going on. But there’s something special about occasionally stopping what we’re doing and saying, “Okay, show me what YOU like.” That’s how we learn them. What makes them laugh. What excites them. What they’re interested in. What makes them feel seen. And I truly believe some of the moments that feel small and insignificant to us will become some of the memories they hold onto the longest. I may not always be interested in the activity…but I’ll always be interested in the person. 🥹 So here’s your challenge: sometime this week, let a child you love choose the activity.No rushing them. No trying to change the plan. Just enter their world for a little while. Then come back and tell me what they chose! 👇🏾 Or Tell me something you’ve done with them that you weren’t necessarily interested in! 🤭
