another thing is why is this case so popular now?? By statistics an incident like this happens ever 5 days perpetrated by men where kids die, but people see a case with a mentality ill women who's story can be twisted. the trial is highlighting how useless the mental health system is. so many people claim to be something they’re not, and it’s a representation of how people in mental psychosis (especially women) are ignored or turned away. “she could’ve gotten help” when she tried, telling people she felt like she was going to kill her kids. it’s not a debate of if she did it or not, it’s a trial to decide if she should go to jail or a mental asylum. why is no one taking the fact that she was turned away because she was OVERDRUGGED as a red flag? they’re focusing on clancy, and NOT how messed up the mental health system is

i overall agree with you but what benefit does putting her in jail do? what benfit does jail hold in your view? I do have a very critical view of the imprisonment system as its shown to make people worse rather than leaving a better person. She's dangerous do to mental state, wouldn't a mental hospital while being monitored be better solution? mental hospitals aren't some paradise, it wouldn't be like a vacation with how high profile she'd be especially.

YES. I hate how nuance absolutely disappears on TikTok and how it bleeds into real life. Yes, a mother killed her children. That’s heinous. even Patrick Clancy agrees that she was poorly taken care of. he filed a lawsuit against her doctors for misdiagnosed her with depression & anxiety instead of bipolar (despite a separate program warning her main providers of her concerning condition), which increases risk of pp, and overmedicating her so badly it caused her mental health to erode. idk why he can concede to that but random strangers cant.

THANK YOU!! finally someone who has the same opinion of me. the entire time since I heard about this ive always thought she should be sent to a mental hospital for treatment before being sent to prison because if she has KILLED SOMEONE imagine what she would do in a jail with a bunch of people without any treatment. I feel like thats the bit most people overlook when they say "just send her straight to jail"

I am a lawstudent from germany and i love your takes. I'd like to clarify, that i only know the european/german law system and have no idea how the american one handles mental illnesses. But here in Germany, this is legally set with the StGB (Strafgesetzbuch) in §20 which can be translated to "No guilt in case of mental illnesses" and a longer paragraph explaining how it should be handled. Please excuse any grammar or language mistakes, for after all, english is not my first language

Her lawyer chose the trial to chose guilty or with insanity due to lindsay unable to defend herself- which makes it impossible for her to remember,, and patrick’s admission doesnt matter because his testimony talked on how she spoke to him during 911 call, which she couldnt

the way she killed the kis was not in a pshycotic way at all,she literally looked up the reasturant patrick was going to so shed know how much time she had and personally sent him out on said erands.i agree that she did have mental issues but pedophila is a mental issue.she had premeditated on the killing before she did it.she did not snap at the kids suddnly.this was calculated.she acted on horrible thoughts instead of going to her husband nanny or anyone.so because she did that she should be given the same punishment any other murderer of 3 kids should be given life in prison.
