OpenAI is taking credit for this when it’s AI stole the work but it’s akin to when ironman created the AI Jarvis and let it access all the digital knowledge and data known to humanity and trained it himself then we see it was able to solve hypotheticals based off Ironmans work. It all comes FROM US

it’s important to add that there was a incredible leap in progress by humans right before open ai jumped on this, hence why many are talking about possible plagiarism and the fact that ai may have at best just finished a tedious end of the problem. for sure though humans put in the majority of the work for this to happen

Isn’t it not a solution but just solving a negative? If you find an instance where it can be disproved, it’s not just solving entirely, just that it may not follow the rules we thought.

idk about solve complex problems. if anything this and that one Jacobian conjecture show that AI models are good at searching and trying different things out rather than solving.

People in the field had known for a few years that using forcing was probably one way to solve NS. The solution isn’t exactly “human readable”. It’s a cool demonstration of effort though! Also more perhaps more interesting is the feud between open ai and Anthropic about it
