1.5 cups warm water (between 100-11° f)

2 ¼ tsp Active Dry Yeast

 1 tsp salt

 2 tsp sugar

 4 Cups bread flour

 2 tbs oil

 Instructions:

Combine warm water, yeast and sugar. Mix well. Set aside for 10-12 min to bloom. ( There should be a nice layer of foam)

Next add bloomed yeast to your flour and add salt. Mix in stand mixer with dough hook until shaggy (or by hand) once you have a dry shaggy dough, add oil and continue to knead either in mixer or by hand until you have a smooth dough. If you use a mixer remove it and knead by hand for a couple minutes and form your ball.

Spray/ coat mixing bowl with oil, place dough ball in mixing bowl and cover (I use a clear plastic shower cap). Set aside to rise (I put mine in the oven with the light on) for 1.5 hours.

After first rise punch down and remove from bowl. At this point I like to flatten into a square slightly smaller than the length of my pan. Then roll tightly tucking the ends as you go. Place into loaf pan and cover and set aside (again mine goes in the oven with light on) to rise for 40-min to an hour. You want the loaf to rise about an inch above the pan.

Bake at 425°f for 25 min. When it comes out immediately remove from pan, place on cooling rack and brush butter over the top.

 ⚠️IMPORTANT⚠️

LET COOL for at least an hour before slicing. You want the steam to escape naturally to avoid your bread becoming super dense. (I like to let mine cool completely before slicing.)

 Slice and enjoy!
