In Episode 2: The Blood Swarm, Rex “Crusher” Kane, Zara “Z” Voss, Dewey “Bug-Eyes” Holt, and Mack “Stomper” Ortega are thrown into their most dangerous battle yet when a swarm of vehicle-sized mutant mosquitoes descends on downtown Meridian City. What starts as a warm City Hall ceremony becomes an all-out urban disaster. Streets erupt into chaos. Cars burn. Civilians flee. Buildings collapse under the weight of the attack. The Bug Busters are forced to deploy upgraded Mosquito Burner Units and fight block by block to keep the swarm from overrunning the city. Rex brings the power. Zara brings precision. Dewey tracks the threat. Mack brings the heavy artillery… and somehow still has a sandwich. But they are not the only ones fighting back. Moving through the smoke and wreckage is The Vigilante — a mysterious hooded stranger dressed in black, armed, calm, and disturbingly prepared for exactly this kind of attack. He carries no badge, answers to no agency, and seems to know far more about the swarm than he should. When Rex spots him across the battlefield, the question becomes bigger than the mosquitoes: Who is this man — and did he know the Blood Swarm was coming? The battle reaches its peak on Fourth Street when all four Bug Busters combine their weapons into the massive FIRE WALL, creating one blazing curtain of flame against the swarm. But victory doesn’t last long. As the smoke settles and first responders move into the ruined streets, Dewey’s scanner detects new movement beyond the city. The swarm may not be finished. And neither is The Vigilante.
