Seah :
Sorry for the book, interesting topic tho. I’ve noticed that you’re often the looper in your lobby’s, holding killers attention for a big chunk of time. All positive things. Unfortunately, I don’t think this playstyle will be heavily rewarded and boost your mmr for better teammates overall. Maybe a little bit as the system rolls out, but definitely not a prioritized playstyle anymore. Instead, you would get players who also only max points in a prioritized category. So you might get the best gen princess ever or the strongest looper ever. But you wont get well rounded teammates playing this way imo. This is why it will be a different animal to reach “high mmr” in this new system. To be clear, I’m not saying you don’t contribute to all progression categories, you just happen to contribute to one specific category a lot more then the others. So you probably have a lot more matches where you max your chase category, but you’re not maxing the other categories the same, which hurts the overall mmr climb. BUT, your teammate who popped a gen, got a couple unhooks, healed someone, and took a quick mini chase, would maybe rank higher and get the mmr boost at the end of the match over the player who only maxed one category? I can’t confirm or deny if this is correct, this is just my personal take from my experience so far and info provided. It also makes a little more sense when you consider the impact on swfs. It doesn’t force swfs to have well rounded match progression from every teammate to get a 4 man out, but it doesn’t reward them an mmr boost either. People climb a bit too easily this way imo and it was abused. If you want to climb the new mmr, youre playing a completely different game then going for escape/win streaks. This stops people from using kills and escapes to control their mmr and instead forces people to be objectively well rounded to climb. My question, does this mark old mmr the current comp playstyle? Im learning in real time with this mmr reset tho, just like everyone else. I could be completely wrong with everything I just said, and I got open ears to any thoughts. Nice post! Cheers!
