Few years ago there was a new restaurant opening in my town that I was excited for. One day I googled it to see if it had opened yet and there was already a review. It was a 1 star review that said “I tried going and they weren’t open yet”

People can be so selfish in insensitive, when I worked in retail a elderly woman passed out in front of the till and while we were waiting for an ambulance to arrive some customers tried stepping over her to be served 😭 it still shocks me when I think about, so glad the owner stood up for his employee, in the places I worked I probably would’ve had a warning for disrupting business and distributing customers (I’m joking but that’s how it felt working there)

When I worked at Mcds our building started on fire. The fire truck was actively in our parking lot and we were all outside and customers yelled at us for being lazy because we were closed in the middle of the day.

this is really how customers act. I was in a situation where an employee died on the floor in the production room and we were working around EMT and customers would actually be complaining about the wait like our coworker wasn't dying in the floor

My mum's lingerie shop. back in 2011 my grandpa passed away right after Christmas. In Italy (I am not sure about other countries) it is common to hang a sign on the shop's blinds with the name, picture of the deceased, the place of the wake and the church where the funeral is held. This guest saw it, checked it out, and came to the wake. The next year she asked my mum if she was going to close for the Christmas holiday again. We were speechless 😶

One time I was grabbing a burrito before work and a server slipped in a puddle and fell. I literally heard her wrist crack. They told her to get back to work and I lost it. I offered to drive her to work with me (the only hospital nearby) or call an ambulance. I was so loud other people started encouraging her to please go. The manager was SO mad but he finally told her she should leave and get it checked out. I loved that place but that was my last burrito there.

I worked at Ulta and had a young man fall out and have a seizure at the register. The person he was with was with him while I called 911. The customer behind him literally tried to step OVER him to get to the counter and proceeded to yell at me bc I wasn’t taking care of her.

We had a customer walk in and pass out from heatstroke. he hit his head when going down and there was a Lot of blood. another customer gets in our way of trying to help him and steps over the body to yell at me that I forgot her side of corn....😬

I will never forget when one of our kitchen ladies had a medical emergency and had to be wheeled out on a gurney. A customer yelled at me because her food was taking too long AS THE PARAMEDICS WERE WALKING THE GURNEY OUT. I snapped and told her “well you’re gonna have to wait because the lady making the tortillas for your tacos might have just died” and she stfu so fast

As a small restaurant owner I can tell you people will lie and exaggerate anything. They rarely ever speak to anyone in the store before going online, but they do not treat big chains this way. But then they’ll be on Facebook like “I support small business!”
