@dcp_arsh: Speaking up for human rights should not stop when the conversation becomes uncomfortable or when those in positions of authority disagree. As students, our education is not limited to what we learn in the classroom; it also involves learning how to engage with the world around us, question injustice, and advocate for the dignity and well-being of others. 🍉 and the gcide is part of that responsibility. These conversations involve real issues of human rights, displacement and the experiences of people whose voices deserve to be heard. I don’t share this to say “oh I’m speaking up” or to make it seem like I’m doing something extraordinary. I share it because I hope it reminds someone else that they can speak up too. You don’t need a platform, a title, or everyone’s approval to stand for something you believe is right. Sometimes simply being willing to speak can make it easier for the next person to do the same.
