I did that with my tb to get him in the float the other day he’s like nope no mam I’m not going on so I’m like yep u are and rope and he’s like okk I’m doing it

lol, how did I know this was going to be a friesian you were talking about 🙈 My 2yr old friesian did this when on holidays and the agistment owner went to move her paddocks. She just said nup and wouldn't budge halfway along. You have outsmarted a friesian, well done Jess 💪😊

This is the exact same method my trainer taught me for my TB. It’s very good for horses that rush backwards off the float

I always used to introduce the bum rope early in halter breaking with the tb babies. Most of them will eventually come across it and it's much nicer when they're little and eager to learn new stuff than it is for someone to bust it out later in a situation where they're already unsure of their surroundings and big enough to turn it into a disaster.
