@nomsmag: 😢 An award-winning Richmond Vietnamese restaurant has CLOSED after 10 years. Bánh Mì Très Bon suddenly shared its farewell on September 8, thanking customers for years of birthdays, anniversaries and everyday dinners. The Richmond location is already closed. The announcement does not give a last service date or a reason. Before starting Banh Mi Tres Bon, Owner Lan Do left her corporate career and traveled to Ho Chi Minh City to learn from the top chefs, then spent about five years developing the restaurant’s hand-rolled bánh mì bread. The concept of Banh Mi Tres Bon was meant to be homestyle Vietnamese cooking with French influences, including the bread she remembered eating in Vietnam. Lan described phở broth simmered for 12 to 15 hours daily and an approach to ingredients shaped by what her parents fed the family. That care extended to hiring: she said she welcomed people with no experience who wanted to work and learn.
