But if I didn’t cook clean maintain my appearance and cater to his sexual needs he wouldn’t see any value in me either. Everybody has a role to play the roles change depending on the couple but both parties are there to give something and receive something. So no you cannot show up to a relationship expecting to get something when you’re not willing to give anything that’s called being selfish

Spot on, providing has never been the issue, the issue comes when you are just being used like an ATM.

That’s the narrative they created. Anytime a woman says she makes her own money and doesn’t need a man to, he pops off with enjoy your cats and dying alone.

I was always lucky. The women always wanted to pay for me, buy me things. And I married a wealthy woman. I never had to worry about that shit.

This definitely goes both ways. This isn’t a men problem. It’s an inner self issue. I stayed at home for 5 years with our medical needs child and did everything! Housework, yard work, ALL of the medical stuff, and yet I was “useless” because I was working providing financial support to my husband. According, to his family I was putting all of the burdens on him. I didn’t feel valued and apparently, neither did he. Several years later, finally realized that the issues aren’t what are we doing for each other to feel valued, it’s what are you doing for yourself. You need have self worth and self respect…. Then you wouldn’t see it this way because you won’t care. You will already know you’re valued just because you started pouring into yourself.
