As ER/RN most people don’t know but the entire American healthcare system has imploded! It’s just not the facility you’re in but everywhere. At this point everyone should just understand that and know it’s the owners and the business model that dictates your care! The staff are worked to death and expected to do more with much, much, much less!

I’m glad you noticed it’s not the nurses fault , we are all overwhelmed and overflowing with patients and no inpatient beds available. Honestly one thing I do different is not promising a bed soon , I always explain the situation and process it involves. We never know a room comes up till it pops up on the screen. There’s a lot of hospitals that still have semi private rooms vs private rooms

I am in the healthcare field, I’m sorry this is happening to you. As a retired nurse, unfortunately the size of the hospital doesn’t meet our country’s current population. If I were you I would request to be transferred to another hospital. It is your legal right.
