@saidsalimsg: 🎬 P. RAMLEE — THE SINGAPORE YEARS 🇸🇬 Before becoming one of the greatest icons of Malay entertainment, P. Ramlee spent more than 15 years building his career in Singapore. He arrived in Singapore in 1948 and joined Malay Film Productions at Jalan Ampas, where he developed from a young performer into an actor, singer, composer and director. His Singapore connection was personal too — P. Ramlee married Saloma here in 1961, and they lived at Cedar Avenue before moving to Kuala Lumpur in 1964. In May 1973, P. Ramlee returned to Singapore for the 19th Asian Film Festival — his final public appearance abroad. He passed away on 29 May 1973 at only 44 years old.
