@thetelegraph: The US destroyed five Iranian oil tankers on Tuesday following a fresh wave of missile attacks by Tehran. The strikes were carried out after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fired ballistic missiles at an American warship in the Middle East twice in the past two days, the US Central Command (Centcom) said. Explosions were heard on Tuesday near Kharg Island, a key site for Iran’s oil industry which Donald Trump had reportedly mooted as a possible location for an invasion. The US ship targeted by Iran evaded the attacks and no American troops were harmed, Centcom said.
