I don't know why we're still arguing over qualified immunity they need to remove qualified immunity from every police officer every federal police everybody that thinks they have it that gives them a blanket get out of jail card so they can break the law themselves and do whatever they want and get away with it qualified immunity is being abused everyday they need to be held to the same standards as the public most of the public are not armed don't have batons knives and tasers and automatic

I think if the officers are too jumpy or scared to do their job safely, they shouldn't be officers. being calm and collected is the best way for an officer to perform best to his ability. if the officers are scared every time they pull someone over, they are in the wrong line of duty. of the person says they don't have their gun on them, than that's what they should believe while being cautious. even criminals that commit crimes are considered innocent until proven guilty. but a jumpy officer becomes a high level threat to the whole situation/stop, regardless of anything else.

not at all we still have the first fourth fifth amendment and a few other ones that fit in there that protect us from unlawful search and seizures of our property our papers where the cops have that right too but not while they're on duty and getting qualified immunity to commit crimes as they see fit the board and the playing field needs to be leveled up they need to be held accountable for the crooked things that they do I think it would make policing a hell of a lot better if you take away the one thing that blocks them for being held accountable the average citizen and them when they're not on the job is the 4th amendment you don't have to unless you commit a crime the show ID tell them who you are the reason why you're walking down the street the reason why you're Crossing through a parking lot that you're allowed to be in that qualified immunity is the evilest thing they ever got it lets them commit crimes and not be held accountable unless you want to sue the city the state or the municipality that this person has took a job working for you're there to protect the public you have all the weapons you have all the power why give you immunity to commit any crime you want and almost every time get away with it and the only ones holding you accountable when you do it is your Captain's your friends in that Force and then when you get your little bit of time off it's usually a little paid vacation they give you I have family members that work for the police department and I even told them and family gatherings that they should not have qualified immunity it keeps the ground level when they don't have that

I know officers have it hard but why does have to go through the courts which is 1 to 2yrs after the subjects life and financial is turned upside down in which is probably struggle to keep thier head above water.
