@majokringmangar1: Tiger Division Operation Commander Orders Soldiers to Avoid Checkpoints Along Nimule Highway JUBA - Brigadier General Robert Angui Mayom, popularly known as Mike Mike, has ordered soldiers of the Tiger Division deployed along the Juba–Nimule highway to avoid operating checkpoints and focus on protecting civilians and travelers. Addressing the soldiers, Mike said their primary responsibility is to protect the President and safeguard civilians, emphasizing that tax collection is not part of their mandate. He said the soldiers were deployed along the highway following growing insecurity and repeated attacks on civilian buses by armed groups, at a time when there was no ready force to adequately enforce security along the road. “You all came here as a result of growing insecurity. There was no ready force to impose the law along the road after rebels regularly attacked civilian buses. We decided to bring you here to finish the insecurity, and congratulations, you did it,” Mike told the soldiers. The commander also said he had engaged the high-level committee on economic reforms to seek a budget for incentives for the deployed soldiers. He said the proposed incentives would allow each soldier to receive an allowance at the end of the month in recognition of their service. Mike urged the soldiers to remain focused on their security duties and avoid activities outside their mandate.
