Maybe Orpheus didn’t look back because he didn’t trust Eurydice. Maybe he looked back because he had already lost her once, and the silence behind him became unbearable. How long can a person love without reassurance? Maybe that was his real battle—not the Underworld, not the gods, not even death. It was the silence. The silence between knowing someone is there and actually feeling that they are there. Because when someone becomes important enough to you, their absence doesn’t feel like ordinary emptiness. It becomes a question your mind keeps asking: Are you still there? Do you still choose me? Are we still okay? Am I still walking toward you, or am I walking toward a life where you no longer exist? And sometimes, love makes us do things we know we shouldn’t. We ask for reassurance even when we’ve already been reassured, because losing someone is a possibility our hearts simply cannot comprehend. Maybe Orpheus’ mistake wasn’t that he loved too little or trusted too little. Maybe he loved so deeply that uncertainty became unbearable. And isn’t that painfully human? Most of us have been Orpheus at some point—afraid that if we stopped looking, they’d disappear; afraid that if we stopped asking, they’d stop choosing us; afraid that if we trusted the journey and kept walking, we’d eventually discover we were walking it alone. Because you can trust someone completely and still be afraid of losing them. Trust doesn’t mean you aren’t afraid. Sometimes, trust is being afraid and choosing to keep walking anyway.

We don't need the perfect 'ideal' of love. It's not about trust alone. It shows how afraid he was to lose the person he loved the most that he couldn't stop himself from looking back and be sure she was there. We can break the rules not because we don't trust them but because we can risk everything for them, to love them.

But, for me, hindi lang yun yung doubt na baka wala na si Eurydice sa likod niya but him accepting the fact that either way mawawala din talaga si Eurydice. Kumbaga yung last glance na yun e parang farewell na rin for Eurydice and for him accepting na wala na talaga si Eurydice.
