As a kid of the eighties, I don't understand this logic? i get it was a different time but at five years old I was out riding my bike all around town. the only rule was to be home in time for dinner. i understand times have changed, but things have gotten out of hand.

This mom is so naive to think her gated community is safe because she "knows" her neighbour's... Just because you wave and smile at someone doesn't mean they are safe people for your kids to be around!

Kids have different capabilities. I was well able to wonder 1/2 mile safely and cross roads etc at the age of 5. I walked to school myself from that age. But it was a lot more common in the 70’s.
