As someone who lost a parent to cancer this may be more innocent than it seems. There’s a lot of my father’s stuff that was in that weird area where donating it felt too impersonal, but it also wasn’t sentimental enough to keep. He may have just been giving it to someone he thought might appreciate it. From your perspective totally odd, but maybe not as big a deal from his. Grief is weird…
