@drsimoneellis: At this BIG AGE....I’m no longer tolerating this and you should not either Relationships that require me to constantly explain my worth. Being overextended simply because I’m capable. Shrinking so other people can feel comfortable. Defending a boundary I’ve already clearly communicated. Being accessible to everyone just because I have the capacity to show up. Confusing chaos with connection. Can I keep going… because maybe you feel these too? Because that was the old version of me. The woman I’m becoming understands something very different: Everything that has access to me should add something to my life. My time. My energy. My relationships. My career. My peace. And they are no longer up for negotiation. The older I get, the less interested I am in convincing people to treat me well. I pay attention. I notice the pattern. I make the decision. And I move accordingly. Because maturity isn't always learning how to communicate your boundaries. Sometimes it’s becoming confident enough to enforce them without needing anyone’s permission. At this stage of my life, I don’t need everyone to understand my decisions. I just need to be at peace with them.
