🌅 Here is the full narrative intro plus more lore: “There is an old Celtic belief that when a man dies in a foreign land, his spirit returns via the low road. In 1745, two Scottish soldiers were made captives in Carlisle, one of whom was to be set free, the other ex3cuted. It is the condemned man who would return to Scotland by way of the low road of d3ath, and reach Loch Lomond before his friend, who must travel the earthly high road.” 💔 The famous Loch Lomond is the largest lake (by surface area) in Scotland (plus Wales and England which makes it the largest lake on the island of Great Britain) and can be traced across the Highland Boundary Fault. Essentially, it acts as a border or gateway between the lowlands and highlands of Scotland (which much of its spiritual lore can be attributed to). While we don’t know where Soap’s ashes were spread, I like to imagine they were spread at Loch Lomond since Soap and his teammates made a journey similar to that of the two Scottish soldiers. 🥺 Of course, it could just be a random/made up location overlooking the sea/a different lake in the Highlands (I’ve actually spent hours trying to find the exact landscape before from the ash spreading scene in MWIII 😵), but Loch Lomond is my headcanon for now due to its lore about the soldiers.
