@austintukwa01: When I first became a monk, not everyone in my family understood what I was doing. Some of them knew me from all the different things I had done throughout my life, so becoming a Buddhist monk was another big surprise. Some of my relatives were also confused because I came from Switzerland and they were familiar with a different religious background. My mom, however, had been beside me throughout my recovery and everything that happened before this transformation. Her response was simple: As long as you’re happy. ❤️@dhammaghosananda When I eventually returned to Switzerland as a monk, something beautiful happened. Even though some people still had questions and didn’t completely understand this new chapter of my life, my family welcomed me with open arms. Relatives came to visit me at home, we talked, they asked questions, and I had the opportunity to explain why I had chosen this path. For some of them, Buddhism and this way of life were completely new. But underneath all those questions was still family, love and acceptance. It became a very special homecoming for me. 🙏❤️
